Flanked on all sides by
lush green lawns and giant old oak trees, the historic Manor
House is a proud symbol of Nederburg's enduring legacy.
Finished in the year 1800, this elegant homestead with its fort-like
walls, high ceilings and airy rooms is one of the most recognisable Cape-Dutch buildings in the Western Cape.
Everything in the house tells a story – from the flagstone
floor tiles shipped from Europe to the classic furniture
collected over the years.
And, far from being a mere monument, the Manor House is
still used regularly for dinners, wine tastings and music
recitals.

Colour: Clear with specs of green and gold.
Aroma: Fresh green notes layered with floral, peach and
spice tones.
Palate: A big and bold wine. Creamy textured with a core of
racy acidy and an amalgam of herbaceous, floral and wood
characters. When well-chilled the wine presents a crisp
Sauvignon blanc profile but when lightly chilled the creamy
oak vanillins come to the fore, with its spice and tannin
characteristics.

The inclusion of some very ripe grapes has contributed a
rich, raisiny complexity counterbalanced by fresh, crisp
fruit with a lively acidity. It’s a very aromatic,
full-bodied, almost voluptuous wine. On the nose you will
pick up ripe stone fruit and raisins, underpinned by a
flintiness. These same qualities show on the palate and they
linger on the aftertaste.
