CECIL JOHN RESERVE (CJR)
The legendary Cecil John Rhodes incorporated Boschendal into
his business interests in 1896, realizing the Estate’s
potential as a fruit and wine farm. Rhodes’ passion for
Boschendal’s terroir played a major role in ensuring that
the Estate’s prime vineyards remained intact, the fruits of
which are still enjoyed today. The Cecil John Reserve range
of wines are individualistic and terroir driven. Our
winemakers follow a minimalist approach in the cellar when
creating these site-specific wines. Produced in very small
volumes, these handcrafted wines honour the vision and
passion of the man who ensured the Boschendal legacy

RESERVE
COLLECTION
This range offers a selection of wines of unsurpassed
elegance and staying power – a reflection of the true
essence and style of both the grape and vineyard site, and a
showcase of their unique potential.
1685 RANGE
This range honours Boschendal’s rich winemaking heritage,
which dates back to the arrival of the French Huguenots in
1685. The uniquely shaped 1685 bottle was created in 1985 to
celebrate 300 years of wine making at Boschendal. These
wines all express true varietal character, concentration of
flavour and length on the palate, and perfectly match the
bold shape of their bottle. A range of wines that reflect
the quality and style which has become synonymous with
Boschendal.
BOSCHENDAL
FAVOURITES
These wines combine that quintessential Boschendal quality
and accessibility. The Blanc de Noir and Blanc de Blanc,
pioneered by Boschendal winemakers in the 1980s, have become
firm favourites and part of a time honoured South African
tradition. Perfect for those long, lazy summer lunches,
these easy drinking wines abound with fresh fruit flavours.
THE PAVILLON RANGE
The Le Pavillon gazebo is one of Boschendal’s famous
landmarks. Like this ornate feature, the accessible and
lively The Pavillon wines celebrate Boschendal’s magnificent
natural setting, the quality of its grapes and its
commitment to people, wine and food. |
