Since its establishment in 1951, winemakers, members of the cellar and viticulturists at Badsberg have been committed to the production of quality wines every year. This dedication together with modern cellar equipment enables Badsberg's cellar-master and his team to produce quality wines that are regularly awarded many prestigious national and international awards.

Visitors are invited to taste these award winning white, red and sparkling wines, port, muscadel and heavenly hanepoot in the modern wine tasting centre.

Colour: Deep ruby.
Nose: Berry and stewed fruit.
Palate: A full bodied wine with excellent balance.

Climate: Mediterranean

Established: Badsberg Wine Cellar was established in 1951, among 23 members. Badsberg currently has 23 members. 

Cellar master: Willie Burger, since 1998. 

Senior Winemaker: Henri Swiegers, since 2002. 

Viticulturist: De Wet Hugo, since 2006. 

Assistant Winemaker: Jaco Booysen

22 200 tonnes in 2010

Vineyards: Currently 80% white and 20% red. By 2015 this ratio will change to 65% white and 35% red. 

New Plantings: Merlot, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc

Soil Types: Rock, sandy loam, black turf, red mountain soil with rocky terrace. 

Geography: Mild, warm summers with nights cooling off rapidly, especially along the mountainside. 

Rainfall: Winter rainfall region with rainfall primarily between May and September. Average rainfall is approximately 1000mm per annum. 

Regional Information: Badsberg is part of Badsberg Conservancy.
